Biographical Information
Hi!  My name is Andrew Hannon, and I am the school principal at Cotton Center.  I have been here for over one year, but my journey here has taken a little longer.  I graduated from Crane High School in 1979 and attended school at Angelo State University.  However, I met my lovely wife, Nancy, in 1982 and decided to delay the education process for a little while.  Not until 1985, when my daughter Elizabeth was born, I decided I needed to further my education.  Hence, I went back to Angelo State and received my degree in 1989.  While I was in school, my son, Josiah was born, and my wife also completed her degree.  Both of us went to work for the San Angelo school district for five years.  She taught elementary while I taught junior high history and coached sports.  After five years in San Angelo, my family and I moved to Van Horn where I taught high school history and English, and I also coached high school sports.  For a brief stint I was in full time ministry but realized that my true calling was in education.  In 2000 I accepted a position as head football coach and history teacher at Westbrook.  I was there for six years and then I was offered a position at Spur as the athletic director, head football coach, and history teacher.  Finally, in 2008 I graduated from Sul Ross with my MA in mid-management and accepted the principal's job here at Cotton Center.  Although I have worked for several schools, no community has impressed me more with their genuine love and concern for others.  I am honored to be a part of the Cotton Center school system, and I am excited about the great things we as a school community are going to accomplish.
