I was born in Corona, California on November 27, 1952 which just happens to be Thanksgiving Day. I moved to Arkansas while in the first grade and then to Oklahoma in the Third. I graduated from Haileyville High School in 1970 and went on to Northeastern Oklahoma State University. While at NSU I played football for two years and decided that I would no longer play due to an injury. I went to work for the Naval Department for one year at the McAlester Naval Ammunition Depot. After a year of labor on an assembly line I decided that I needed to get back in school and get my degree. I graduated in 1976 with a BS Degree in Physical Education, Recreation & Safety with a minor in History. I was offered a job in Checotah, Oklahoma as a teacher and then later as a coach. After five years at Checotah, I had the opportunity to work for a coach that I respected very highly and accepted a position at Kiefer Public Schools where I coached Football, Baseball, Basketball, taught Driver Education and History. After two years a position as Elementary Principal came open and I took that job on as well as continued to coach and Teach Driver Ed. While at Kiefer I began work to complete my Masters Degree and married Brenda. I stayed at Kiefer for 5 years and was offered a Superintendent's position at a little school near my original home site and accepted the position at Tannehill Public Schools so that I could be closer to my aging parents. While at Tannehill my son Ryan was born. My step father passed and my mother moved to California to be closer to my brothers and sisters. I was offered a Superintendent's position with Broxton Public Schools in western Oklahoma. While at Broxton, I completed my Masters degree and began work on my Standard Superintendent's Certificate. My daughter was born in Lawton, Oklahoma during this time. The Broxton community made the decision to consolidate with Ft. Cobb Public Schools and I decided to take a job as Superintendent of Ninnekah Public School which was a much larger school just outside of Chickasha, Oklahoma. From Ninnekah, where we stayed for 3 years, we moved to the panhandle of Oklahoma to Keyes Public Schools. While at Keyes, we sponsored an Exchange Student from Finland for a year. Great Experience. We stayed 3 years but the location was just not a good one for the family so we moved to Bokchito, Oklahoma where I became the Superintendent of Rock Creek Public Schools for 3 years. While at Rock Creek, we again sponsored an Exchange Student, this one from Germany. We continue to keep in contact with both of our Exchange Students. I was offered a job at Stratford Public Schools and stayed for five years. I retired from Oklahoma education with 29 years of service and enjoyed each one. I went to work for a technology company but soon decided that I was not ready to retire from the career that I loved and began to make applications to schools in other states. I came to Cotton Center, Texas as the Superintendent of a very small rural school and plan to stay until I am eligible to retire. While at Cotton Center, both Ryan and Amber have graduated. Ryan has gone to Howard Payne University and has played basketball for two years and now has transferred to Angelo State University where Amber has decided to go to major in Physical Therapy.
